My name is Mohammed Abu Raida, and I am a medical student from Gaza, currently living in Egypt. I write these words with a heavy heart — filled with sorrow for my family still in Gaza, and hope that this message reaches compassionate and kind hearts.

Since the outbreak of the recent war on Gaza, my family’s life has been turned upside down. They were forced to flee our home under heavy bombardment, leaving everything behind. They now live in extremely harsh conditions, under a tent they managed to buy with the help of others, struggling every day to find food, clean water, and essential medicine. One of my family members suffers from a chronic illness, and access to proper treatment is nearly impossible. Although I am currently safe in Egypt, I carry the weight of their suffering with me every day. At the same time, I am facing my own financial struggles. As a medical student, I am trying hard to continue my education, but the costs of university tuition, living expenses, and rent in Egypt have become increasingly difficult to bear.

I am reaching out with humility to ask for your support in:

• Helping my family in Gaza cover their basic needs (food, water, medicine).

• Securing safer shelter for them during this ongoing crisis.

• Supporting my living expenses and tuition in Egypt so I can continue my journey to become a doctor — and one day give back to those in need, including my own community.
